Output module failed (render write error)
The error
"After Effects error: Rendering error while writing to file ... An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464)"
Why this happens
A QuickTime/codec conflict, a full or locked output drive, permissions issues, or another app holding the QT port.
How to fix it
- Render via Adobe Media Encoder, or export H.264 in an .MP4 wrapper instead of QuickTime .MOV.
- Render to an image sequence (PNG/TIFF) as a bulletproof fallback.
- Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache; check the output drive has space and write permissions.
