1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using AE Doctor ("the Software"), these terms will automatically apply to you. You should make sure therefore that you read them carefully before using the Software. We are offering you this Software to use for your own personal or business use without cost (for the free tier) or for a fee (for Pro and Lifetime tiers).

2. License and Intellectual Property

AE Doctor is an extension designed for Adobe After Effects. All intellectual property rights, trademarks, and code belong to the creator. You are not allowed to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Software, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the software, unless laws prohibit those restrictions or you have our written permission.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

All payments are securely processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. When you purchase a Pro or Lifetime license, you are bound by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Licenses are strictly limited to the specified number of devices (e.g., 2 machines for Pro). Account sharing is prohibited and may result in license termination.

4. Disclaimer of Warranty

The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from, out of or in connection with the Software or the use or other dealings in the Software.

Privacy Policy

1. Data Minimization

At AE Doctor, we strongly believe in your privacy. The core functionality of the Software runs 100% locally on your machine. We do not upload your After Effects project files, composition data, or layer names to our servers.

2. What We Collect

We collect only the minimum amount of data required to run the service:

  • Account Information: If you register or purchase a license, we collect your email address via Supabase Authentication to manage your license.
  • Hardware ID: A hashed version of your machine ID is temporarily sent to verify your license limits.
  • Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics on our website to understand traffic patterns anonymously. No invasive tracking cookies are used.

3. Third-Party Services

We use Paddle as our Merchant of Record for payments. Paddle handles your credit card data; we do not store or see your financial information. We use Supabase for authentication and backend database services.

How to request a refund

To request a refund, please contact us within 14 days of your original purchase date. Provide your purchase email address or order number. Your refund will be processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle, and returned to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.

Exceptions

Refunds will not be granted after the 14-day window has passed, or if we detect abuse of the refund policy (e.g., repeated purchasing and refunding).
