Element 3D — "failed to initialize OpenGL"

The error

"Element failed to initialize OpenGL. Please ensure your GPU drivers are up to date & that your GPU is compatible."

Why this happens

AE is using an integrated Intel GPU instead of the dedicated NVIDIA/AMD card, outdated drivers, or an unsupported GPU.

How to fix it

  1. Update GPU drivers.
  2. Disable the integrated Intel GPU in Device Manager, or force the dedicated GPU via NVIDIA/Windows graphics settings.
  3. Verify your GPU meets Element 3D’s minimum spec.
