DynamicLinkManager crash on startup

The error

AE crashes at launch with a crash log referencing "<DynamicLink> ... dynamiclinkmanager.exe".

Why this happens

A missing/blocked dynamiclinkmanager executable, firewall or antivirus blocking it, or an incompatible file-format plugin (e.g. ICOFormat, webp).

How to fix it

Allow dynamiclinkmanager through your antivirus/firewall application rules.
Remove incompatible file-format plugins (ICOFormat.plugin, webp) from the Adobe plug-ins folder.
Restore dynamiclinkmanager.exe from the install media if it was deleted.
