From teaching After Effects to fixing it

Vaszer runs the Vaszer Edits Community — an active After Effects and video-editing Discord where editors trade tutorials, presets, and troubleshooting help. Years of answering the same "why does my AE keep crashing" and "why is my render so slow" questions, over and over, for thousands of editors, is what led to building an actual diagnostic tool instead of one more tutorial.

Why AE Doctor exists

Most After Effects performance advice online is generic — "close other apps," "reduce your RAM cache," "reinstall your GPU driver." AE Doctor exists because that advice doesn't tell you which plugin is conflicting, which precomp is the render bottleneck, or why your specific machine is choking. It's built to actually diagnose your installation — not guess at it.

How it's actually built

Most "optimizer" tools for creative apps are a script and a marketing page. This one pairs a CEP panel inside After Effects with a native Windows service running alongside it — the panel handles diagnosis and the UI, the service reads real hardware telemetry (CPU/GPU temps, per-DIMM RAM, per-drive storage, fan RPM) that a browser-sandboxed script simply can't see. Everything runs locally on your machine; nothing about your project files, footage, or layer names is ever uploaded.
